Methodology
What's included
Paid individual subscriptions that can be used for agentic coding (36 plans from 12 vendors). Team and enterprise plans are mentioned in notes only. Plans that forbid coding agents (for example Featherless Chat) are left out. Free tiers are left out because they are not meant for regular coding work.
Where the numbers come from
- Only from the vendor's own pricing pages and docs, linked on every row with the date we checked them (last full check: 2026-10-23). See all sources.
- Prices are list prices before VAT/sales tax for the monthly plan; yearly prices are shown where the vendor publishes them. Introductory discounts are not used.
- Usage limits are quoted as the vendor states them. If a vendor only says "5x more than Pro", that is all we show. We never estimate token allowances ourselves; missing values are
nullin the JSON. - If a vendor's own pages contradict each other, the plan is left out until it is clear (currently: Google AI Plus).
Break-even calculator
- API cost = uncached input × input price + cached input × cached price + output × output price, using first-party list prices from prices.branolabs.com (updated 2026-10-22, CC BY 4.0). If a model has no cached price, the full input price is used.
- "API cheaper below" = the plan price divided by your cost per million tokens of the same mix.
- Z.ai capacity uses Z.ai's published credit formula and multipliers, assuming 30.44 days per month, at the peak rate (off-peak shown as half).
- EUR prices are converted with the ECB euro reference rate (2026-10-22: 1 EUR = 1.1205 USD).
- OpenAI says API token prices are separate from subscription usage and should not be used to estimate included tasks. The calculator shows what the same tokens would cost via the API, not what a plan includes.
Independence
